The tuna belly is obtained from the fattest part of the animal, the one that surrounds the abdominal cavity: the muscle bundles are woven of fat that make the meat softer and tastier. Tuna is an excellent source of high quality proteins and omega-3 fatty acids that we know well for their numerous beneficial properties: they play an important role in lowering the level of LDL- "bad" cholesterol in the blood, have anti-inflammatory action and help the nervous system to keep fit helping to reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
